How to set up a company or an organization

Setting up a legal entity covers the process from the decision to set up a legal entity in the legal form of choice, to its registration in the Register of Legal Entities. To register a legal entity, i.e. a profit-making company (e.g. a private limited liability company, a small partnership, a sole proprietorship or partnership), or a non-profit organization (e.g. an association, a public body, a charity and support fund, a gardeners' association, etc.), you must first apply to the State Enterprise Centre of Registers. For more detailed information on the registration process, please see on the website VĮ „Registrų centras“.

The State Tax Inspectorate will register the company/organization in the Register of Taxpayers upon receiving data on its registration in the State Enterprise Centre of Registers. If certain data of the company/organization changes (e.g. address, activities, accounting officer, structural unit data), then the duly completed notification Form FR0791 must be submitted to the State Tax Inspectorate within 5 working days from the date of the respective data change. For more detailed information, please see here (only in Lithuanian).
