Activities available under a business license as of 1 July 2020

As of 1 July 2020, the following activities in self-employment under a business license are abolished:  

  • Maintenance and repair of motor vehicles; 
  • Installation of electrical systems in buildings, installation and repair of electrical equipment; 
  • Installation of plumbing, heating and air-conditioning systems. 

As of 1 July 2020, the following activities in self-employment under a business license are revised: 

  • Construction work. Activity identified as Special construction works (site preparation, roofing, foundations, bricklaying, concreting, waterproofing, erection and dismantling of scaffolding and work platforms, chimney installation) no longer gives right to carry out finishing and repair works on buildings and other structures. Activity identified as Finishing and cleaning works upon construction completion is now identified as Post-construction cleaning works;
  • Residential letting. As of 1 July 2020,  separate business licenses for each residential rental property are required;
  • Childcare and babysitting. Childcare is no longer part of activity identified as Household activities (event hosting, housekeeping, furniture and carpet cleaning, childcare, gardening, landscaping, firewood splitting, refuse collection). Babysitting is no longer part of activity identified as Babysitting, care work for persons with disabilities and others, and only care work for persons with disabilities, including minors with disabilities, remains under the above type of activity. Care work for other persons cannot be carried out as part of the services provided to minors.

Business licenses for the abolished/revised activities may be held until 30 June 2020. After 1 July 2020, new business licenses are required for self-employed persons carrying out the revised activities. Persons wanting to continue carrying out the abolished activities are required to register self-employment under an individual activity certificate.
