How to acquire a business certificate?

The most convenient way of acquiring a business certificate is electronically through the portal My STI, in section: Paslaugos -> Verslo liudijimai -> Verslo liudijimo užsakymas.

You may also acquire a business certificate at the nearest County State Tax Inspectorate (STI) *.

A business certificate is issued no later than within 4 working days from the date of submission of documents.

A business certificate may be issued for a desired period, but not later than the end of the calendar year.

5 days is the shortest period for which service and manufacturing business certificates can be issued (these days do not necessarily have to be consecutive days), and 1 day is the shortest period for a trade business certificate.

Important: If you are a national of a third country, which is not the Member State of the European Union, and wish to acquire a business certificate in Lithuania, you must submit additionally together with the application for a business certificate a temporary or permanent residence permit in Lithuania issued in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Lithuania on the Legal Status of Aliens**.
