Calculating immovable property tax on properties let out during the year
If property on which the owner is liable for immovable property tax is let out during the year, then immovable property tax is calculated as follows:
- if property is let out to a company, then the company is required to charge immovable property tax from the month following the rental of the property. For example, if the property is let out in March, then the company pays immovable property tax for the months of April to December, and the original owner pays immovable property tax for the months of January to March;
- if property is let out to a resident, then the original owner is liable for immovable property tax for the entire calendar year.
